Rusa Deer

Rusa are smaller than the Red deer and prefer to inhabit the lower lying areas that have grassy clearing. They are an extremely cunning deer and can crawl into the smallest of thickets to hide. In spring (September, October, November) they will even venture out onto adjoining farmland on the bush fringes and quite happily graze amongst cattle herds. Spring is where the new lush grass growth often lures these Rusa deer out into the open and advantage shooting becomes an excellent option.
